    The Orphan Works Act, the real facts

    First I want to retract one statement I made last week. I stated that Mett Deimon was a spammer and maybe Peturg in disguise. I have since found out this was not the case. He really was a victim of Gs spamming and last week because he felt guilty over things he said, about me and I think because of other things going on in his life. He died, he choose to commit suicide, because he felt he had committed a huge dishonor and choose to die whether then live with it. So lease go give his lady friend some love and understanding he did this two days before I posted this journal and I had heard he was going to do this. But I was not sure if it was true or not. Too-chic convinced me it is true. So lease go give her some love and be her friend :icontoo-chic: too-chic. I removed his name from the list though as I had promised her

    Ok I am retracting and editting this, Because I do not want my readers to panic over this new Orphan works act, Please go and read this mans Articule about the issue and your rights as a DA artist and artist in general.     I'm so glad you posted this! So many people aren't aware of the laws out there, and those that are aware don't always pay attention, or think anything of them. :D I'm glad I haven't paid for dA! I'm thinking of making my own website, though that costs money aswell, but I'm sure it would pay off in a different way. Plus I'm too lazy to add watermarks to all my photos! I'm thinking of re-doing my dA account now and watermarking all my photos in the time consuming, but well worth it process! :hug: Thanks!

    I heard this from a guy im a big fan off, who lives in the UK. I read it on his journal and was about to post it myself. I think its a pile of crap because apparently european law is considering the same thing

I really wish I had read>>>> this link first [link] DA's head of Copyrights Daniel beliys my fears and if and when he gives me his permission I will post his journal on how this new law affects artist on the whole right issue. Acording to him, the current copyright laws will remain in affect.

    Oh, sounds like a fair rule actually. =)
    I try to always watermark/sign my artwork for that reason (If someone posts it away from my site, they will know who owns it)
    I do it to all bigger works, sometimes my smaller also. =^_^=
